Since 1990, Florida has been the only team in the SEC to have a player with 50 or more catches every season. A Gator wide receiver has also led the league in TD receptions each of the last six seasons.
Since 1990, Florida has ranked each year among the nation’s top 10 in passing offense.
In ‘95, the Gator offense set SEC records for most points (534) and most touchdowns (73), total yardage per game (534.4), passing yardage per game (360.8) and passing touchdowns (48). The 1995 team was first in the SEC in total offense (534.4, fourth nationally) and passing offense (360.83, second nationally) while leading the nation with TD catches (48).
The 1994 Gator offense set school and SEC records for points (521) and touchdowns (69), and finished second in the nation in scoring offense (43.4 ppg.), fourth in passing offense (311.7 ypg.) and eighth in total offense (462.8 ypg.).
In '94 UF had 43 TD catches, the most in a season in SEC history. The 43 TD catches also led the nation in 1994.
In 1995, Chris Doering and Ike Hilliard ranked first and second in receptions in the SEC and were also only two of five players in the country with 15 or more touchdown receptions. Although he has been at UF for just six seasons, Dixon has coached three of the four career touchdown leaders in SEC history (Doering, 31; Jack Jackson, 29; and Willie Jackson, 27) and three of the top five leaders in receptions in Gator history (Willie Jackson , 162; Doering, 149 and Jack Jackson, 143). Has coached five of the all-time top six receivers in Gator history in the category of TD/catch ratio (1st - Ike Hilliard (4.16), 3rd - Aubrey Hill (4.78), 4th - Chris Doering (4.81), 5th - Jack Jackson (4.93) and 6th - Harrison Houston (5.32). In addition, Dixon has coached seven players drafted or signed by the NFL (Chris Doering, Tre Everett, Aubrey Hill, Harrison Houston, Jack Jackson, Willie Jackson and Ernie Mills).
